Enhanced Neuron Visualization Tools using NAVis

How can neuron morphology be used to understand the underlying principles of neuronal circuitry? My research aims to answer just that, and doing so requires visualization methods such that intuitions can be gained about various types of neuron structures. One source of inspiration thus far is the NAVis (Neuron Analysis and Visualization) Python library, which offers several visualization tools for SWC neuron files. I created an enhanced version of one of the said tools that allows the user to automatically color synapse location based on synapse type while maintaining distinction between pre- and post-synaptic sites.
